Tallahassee – On October 3, 2013, Attorney Matt Liebenhaut was a guest lecturer at the Florida State University College of Law’s Medical-Legal Partnership.  The Partnership is a collaboration between the FSU Colleges of Law and Medicine and is an innovation in interdisciplinary education. Law students partner with medical students, social work students, lawyers and physicians to examine patients’ social determinants of health.  Mr. Liebenhaut discussed the social security disability system and gave the students who are part of the program guidance on particular problems they face when serving the clients of the medical-legal clinic.  “I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to work with these service-minded law students and give them some instruction on some of the real-world aspects of lawyering not covered in your everyday law school curriculum.”  For more information on the FSU Medical-Legal Partnership, visit http://www.law.fsu.edu/academic_programs/jd_program/cac/medicallegalpartnership.html .
